Humbled...firstly by faith in Christ Jesus and His saving work on the cross, then by my marriage to a wonderful woman and the birth of our three beautiful and healthy children, and thirdly by the talents of those who came before me, namely Steve Green and Larnelle Harris. These two singers, whom I have never met, have inspired this work and it is recorded as both a marker of my faith and a tribute to their magnificent voices. I have sung this music since the regeneration of my spirit and only now have the resources to make this offering to our Lord for the betterment of my brothers and sisters in Christ and the spreading of His gospel. 

   It is also a collaborative effort between my faith in God the Almighty, Herb Bernstein, and the remarkable musicians captured on these anointed songs. This work could not have been accomplished if it were not for their gracious input and the generous backing of a true
gentleman and friend, Paul Polo. I pray that my voice will do his gift justice and both bless and navigate others to a deeper relationship with the world’s Savior.

   In a time when God’s love and faith in Him is so desperately needed, even this recording was initially met with skepticism, doubt, and resistance. So with the Holy Spirit’s sustaining urging, an inconceivable act of generosity, and the help of extremely talented individuals, a mandate has been fulfilled. Though some may not believe or understand what I was trying to attain in this effort, departing from what had given me a measure of fame, to something far greater than self-serving - It is a return to my first true love, that being
obedient to the call of Christ and to use one’s abilities to share His good news. I pray that all who hear this message of hope, love and grace will remember me in their prayers, and if I never sing again until He comes in glory, I sang this CD with all my heart and soul,

 A Message from Herb Bernstein

   I’m happy to say that Michael and I have been working together for nearly five years, and during that time, I’ve watched him grow from a fine singer into a sensational entertainer. I can hardly contain myself
as I watch each audience react wildly after each and every performance.

  A little over a year ago, Michael spoke to me about doing a spiritual CD and I must admit that I was not initially overly enthusiastic. Then just a few months ago, Michael asked me to listen to music for the making of his inspirational and faith-based recording. There was something different about his voice, something more urgent, I can’t explain it, but I could feel the passion, emotion and the deep need to sing these songs that he had been yearning to record for many years and only a fool could not have felt his enthusiasm and desire.

  After hearing these songs, I couldn’t wait to start writing and arranging, and Michael couldn’t wait to begin singing. Our musicians and singers did more than perform their notes to perfection but each poured their hearts and spirits into every song. Our engineer was so
moved by what he was hearing that he too, became more than a hired participant. It seemed as though Michael had been born just to sing these songs. The very first time I heard, “When Praise Demands a Sacrifice,” I could not restrain my tears and it still moves me so, even now after hearing it hundreds of times.

  I think what I like most about this recording is that it crosses all boundaries and all religions. It’s about believing, it’s about faith, it’s about people, it’s about God, but most of all, It’s about Love.
